FIRST LADY MITZIE A.HATCHETT

First Lady Mitzie Hatchett

First Lady Mitzie A. Hatchett hails from the island of Jamaica, WI. She committed her life to the Lord at a very early age, and was baptized at age 12. She received her spiritual upbringing in the New Testament Church of God, which laid the foundation for Servant Leadership. She sang in her church and high school choirs and was a member of the SMC trio, traveling around the island performing and competing in singing competitions. In September 1989, she migrated to the United States.

While residing in New Jersey, she became a member of Green Grove Baptist church and served faithfully for 15 years. She was appointed Deaconess, Director of Hospitality (with responsibility for the Greeting Ministry & Guest relations), and served on the Intake Ministry.

Upon relocating to Delaware, she joined Canaan Baptist Church in January of 2012 and was a devout member. She served on the Singles Ministry, International Cultural Ministry, Women's Ministry, and the Trustee Ministry.

In October 2016, she left for Gospel Time COGIC, to serve alongside her husband, Pastor Alfred Hatchett. During that time, she implemented processes and procedures of fiscal responsibility that led to a rebirth of the church’s finance and subsequent growth.

Lady Hatchett is the Co-founder of Refuge Christian Fellowship Ministries, dutifully serves as the Youth Sunday School Teacher, and has oversight responsibility for Church Administration and Finance. She speaks on 5th Sundays in her capacity as First Lady, and serves as a mentor to the young women.  She is comforted by Jeremiah 29-11, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord..."

First Lady Hatchett earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Burlington County College, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management (cum laude), and a Master’s Degree in Management, with a concentration in Organizational Leadership, from Wilmington University. She is a member of Sigma Beta Delta Scholastic Honor Society, and has written a paper on “The Decline in Church Membership", finding solutions to mitigate this trend. Her goal is to influence the transformational change process in local churches.

She is married to Pastor Alfred L. Hatchett, and together they are doing ministry for the Master.
