Pastor A. L. Hatchett was serving as the Interim Pastor at Gospel Time COGIC, in Wilmington, DE, when the Lord instructed him to go on a 7-day fast. His wife decided to join him, and together they waited on the Lord for His revelation. Upon completion of the fast, the Lord told Elder Hatchett in a clear voice, to name his church. This meant leaving an established church organization, to plant a new church.  He heeded the call and stepped out by faith, knowing that the Lord would not lead us where He had not made the provision. 

 

On June 28, Pastor Hatchett convened a meeting with a close circle of supporters to share the revelation the Lord had given him for a new church. The name of the church was introduced as “Refuge Christian Fellowship Ministries”, a safe-haven for the unchurched, a sanctuary unto the Lord, and a source of inspiration for the saved.  

 

Pastor Hatchett held a subsequent meeting and announced that services would commence on Sunday, July 16th, 2017. He shared the vision the Lord gave him, “to equip and mobilize the church, to transform our neighborhoods and community, by winning souls for Jesus Christ”.  

 

On Sunday, July 16th, we triumphantly held our first church service and the spirit of the Lord showed up in a mighty way. The Lord continues to favor this Ministry and is blessing us abundantly, as we fulfill the mandate He has assigned to us.  

 

Elder Hatchett was officially installed as Pastor, on October 15th, 2017.  He skillfully teaches and dissects the unadulterated Word of God, faithfully serves the congregation, and continuously seeks God’s direction for His people.
